The problem
Until now, cotton production data has existed across multiple disconnected systems. Growers often receive information from numerous providers, creating data overload while limiting their ability to generate meaningful insights from the information available.
The gap
Critical datasets such as fibre quality, picker performance, agronomic inputs and financial outcomes have traditionally been analysed independently, or not at all, preventing growers from understanding the complete relationship between production decisions and profitability.
The solution
CottonIQ was established to solve this problem by providing a comprehensive solution, with new insights and visual analysis. Launched in Brisbane, Queensland in 2026, CottonIQ developed the IQ1 platform to centralise data management and provide actionable insights.
CottonIQ combines extensive experience in farming, domestic and international cotton trading, cotton advisory services, software development, data analytics and agricultural innovation. Raised on a cotton farm in St George, Dugald spent seven years in a global technology company before bringing those skills back to the industry he grew up in. He designed and built the Cotton IQ engine and portal from the ground up.
